Angela Edwards lives and works as an artist in the North East of England. She worked in London for many years as an illustrator and designer for various publishing houses and design studios. Working for clients such as Frederick Warne and Penguin Books, she redesigned and illustrated the classic Beatrix Potter characters 'Peter Rabbit and Friends'. She loves painting in oils, using bold marks and harmonious colours to capture the drama of the landscape.
"For as long as I can remember I've always loved drawing and painting and have been fortunate enough to have had a long and enjoyable career as an artist; I especially enjoy painting the landscape. Now living and working back in the North East, I am surrounded by beautiful countryside and coastline which is a never ending source of inspiration for me. My paintings depict a sense of the landscape expressing my interest in colour interactions, form and structure. I work into a painting using oil paints in an impasto style, building up layers of colour and making bold marks on the canvas. I love using the texture of the paints to capture the drama of an expanse of sky, moorland or stretch of beach".
